EDC Donates to Meals on Wheels in Time of Need
March 26, 2020
Englewood Meals on Wheels serves over 160 clients in the community each day. Many of them are among our most vulnerable citizens. The members of the Englewood Democratic Club focus their charity efforts on helping seniors and neighbors in whatever way they can, encouraging others to stay involved in making a better community.
In response to the many needs arising from the spread of the coronavirus, a gift was made by the Englewood Democratic Club members to Englewood Meals on Wheels because they do such a wonderful service to the community!
David Jones, representing the Englewood Democratic Club, presented Tom Kizis, the Director of Englewood Meals on Wheels with a check for $1,000 to be used to help in any way needed. Financial contributions are always welcome to keep the cost of the clients’ meals down as well as to help pay for clients unable to pay the amount themselves. Englewood Meals on Wheels is very appreciative of the Englewood Democratic Club donating to the organization.
David and Patti Jones also contributed a personal donation of $240 to Englewood Meals on Wheels. The monetary gift is 10% of the stimulus check each couple will be getting in the near future.
